Ryes and shine, it’s adventure time — another day, another journey awaits! This animated music video follows the protagonist, Mr. Toast, as he weaves through reality and imagination in his day-to-day life.This project is a work in progress.

Character Design
The client, Corz, already had a character in its early development stages, so when I picked up the project I aimed to refine and clarify the design rather than create an entire new character.
The protagonist, Mr. Toast, is an adventurous toast with eyes that glint with excitement at new escapades and an aptitude for daydreaming.
Process
I first worked with the client in splitting the song into different sections, with each segment having a particular short journey that Mr. Toast goes on based on the lyrics of the song.
Animation
We chose to aim for a hand-drawn and overall imperfect look. I decided it would look most authentic to use cel animation in Procreate Dreams, then add additional effects in AfterEffects.
